The latest weapons in the war on cancer, along with the compassionate care that is used to treat such patients, will be displayed during an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at the new Woodland Cancer Care Center, 8955 W. 400 North.
The $12 million, 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, under the auspices of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City, offers a new, state-of-the-art Trilogy Linear Accelerator, PET/CT scan and diagnostic CT, 13 infusion bays, a laboratory and pharmacy and cancer screenings, along with a patient and family education center and a community room.
The open house will include free health screenings for colorectal cancer, blood glucose, blood pressure, pulse oximetry and bone density.
Prizes will include a one-night getaway at Marina Grand Resort in New Buffalo, Mich.; two Kindle Fire HD 7s, and two, $150 gift cards for Lighthouse Place premium outlets.
